Release 2026 - 10.0

We're thrilled to introduce a new functionality to BI Book that enhances both security and user convenience.

New Feature: One-Time Passcode Login

  • Simplified Login Process: Users can now log in using a one-time passcode, adding a convenient alternative to existing methods.

  • Improved Accessibility: Ideal for those lacking or opting against third-party SSO services, and perfect for external stakeholders who don't possess full organizational accounts.

  • Company Domain Availability: Currently, this feature is available exclusively for login attempts tied to specified company domains. Future updates will extend this availability to general BI Book logins at get.bibook.com or bibook.com.

New Feature: Public bookmark creation now follows report permissions

We are updating how public bookmarks work in BI Book to better align with Power BI Service and give you more control over shared views.

What is changing?

Until now:

  • Any user with access to a report could create public bookmarks.

  • Only Admins could delete public bookmarks.

From this release onward, public bookmarks are tied to Power BI edit permissions on the report.

New behavior

1. Who can create public bookmarks?
Users can create a public bookmark for a report if they have “Power BI edit mode” on that report via either:

  • “Can edit” direct access, or

  • A user group with “Can edit” access.

If a user does not have “Power BI edit mode” on a report:

  • They can create private bookmarks only, as long as they have at least view permission on the report.

Important:
Even if the report itself does not have editing enabled in BI Book, users with “Power BI edit mode” permission can still create public bookmarks for that report.

2. Who can delete public bookmarks?
Users with “Power BI edit mode” on a report can delete that report’s public bookmarks.
(Admin rights are no longer required for this.)

3. What stays the same?

  • The private bookmarks feature is unchanged.

  • Any user with access to a report can still view all public bookmarks for that report.

🐛Bug fixes

  • Bug fix: Tag filter layout on Store page

We have fixed an issue where the Tag filter UI on the Store page broke when many tags were selected.

  • Other small UI fixes.

We hope you enjoy this new release!

Yours sincerely,

Team BI Book
