Major Updates

Planning Optimization

Improvements include optimized handling of unsaved changes, significantly enhancing performance and responsiveness:

• Changes are now processed directly, reducing the necessity of visual memory storage.

• Reminder: Unsaved changes will be lost upon switching pages.

Enhanced User Interface

The Planning UI has been revamped for consistency and improved usability:

• Theme selection now ensures a consistent look and feel across the application, including cells, subtotals, header formatting, and other UI components. All UI elements have been revised to enhance usability and provide a simplified, minimalist experience.

• Adaptive resize of modal windows based on screen dimensions for a seamless experience.

• Refined the user experience for multiple features, including improvements to the copy-by-dragging capability, resulting in smoother and more intuitive interactions.

(1) To save time on visual formatting, select one of the available pre-made themes from Table formatting

(2) Themes control the appearance of key elements such as subtotals, grand totals, cell styles, edited cells, calculated column backgrounds, and locked cells.

(3) If the selected theme doesn’t meet your preferences, you can customize the formatting at any time in the visual settings.

Rendering Configuration

New options have been added for row loading modes, giving users flexibility:

• "Progressive" loading by scrolling (default setting).

• "Load All at Once" for immediate display.

• "Specify Initial Row Count" to customize the initial load amount.

Bug Fixes

We've resolved several important issues:

• Fixed infinite loading when applying suggestions to a range containing calculated cells.

• Resolved navigation issues after user input.

• Fixed conditional formatting for cases where the measure name contains a special character.

• Resolved performance issues in the "Suggest All" feature, with additional enhancements planned.

• Improved stability to prevent the visual from jumping after most actions (e.g., suggestions and allocations). A small number of edge cases still cause the visual to scroll to the top.

Known Issues

For full transparency, here are existing issues under review:

• Column width adjustments with "Auto Width" disabled may not respond correctly.

• Undo (Ctrl+Z) occasionally behaves incorrectly in certain editing contexts, such as after using the copy feature or applying suggestions to row or column subtotals.

• Specific rendering modes exhibit anomalies in specific use cases.

  • “Load all at once” issue where collapsing all levels causes rows to seem to disappear:

• “Progressive load” issue: When the rendering mode is set to Progressive (default) and there are unsaved changes while not all rows are loaded (e.g., the user hasn’t scrolled down yet), scrolling down to load additional planning rows can cause UI issues:

  • 

• Calculated columns feature does not work properly if the value measure has a special character in its name.

• If a cell has just been edited and the user adds or edits a comment, the comment is not saved.

• After applying a formula to a range of row subtotals, the underlying cells do not show the “edited” cell formatting.

What is next

• Over the next two weeks, we’ll focus on polishing this version of the visual and fixing the bugs listed under “Known issues.” In parallel, we’ll begin Planning Optimization – Part 2, which aims to reduce rendering time and is expected to take approximately 1–1.5 months.
