How to use formulas in Planning

Planning visual supports simple mathematical operations
Planning visual supports simple mathematical operations in its cells such as addition (+), subtraction (-), division (/), multiplication (*). Additionally, you can apply percentual change to cell values.
Please note that the mathematical operations enable you to modify the values of the Planning, but the formulas themselves are not stored or saved within the Planning, unlike in Excel.
This article focuses on the following topics:
How to apply formulas to a cell
How to apply formulas to a range of cells
How to apply percentage change to a cell/range of cells
Limitations
Applying formula to a cell
1) Click once on a Planning cell you would like to modify (e.g. any of the lowest level cell, row/column subtotal, total cells)

2) Start typing in a formula with \"=\". For example, if you would like to multiply cell value by 10 then type \"=*10\":

3) Once finished with the formula, hit \"Enter\" or simply navigate to other cells > the value in the cell changes in accordance with the formula you've applied and the cell is formatted as edited:

4) Once you finished with editing the cells, please remember to press \"Save\"
Applying a formula to range of cells
If you would like to modify a range of cells in a similar manner please follow the steps below.
1) Select the range of cells which values you would like to adjust by some value:

2) Right after the selection you can notice that the top left value is highlighted. Do not click on the cell - instead, just start typing the formula \"=...\":

3) Press \"Enter\" on your keyboard - all the cells in the range are adjusted accordingly:

4) Remember to save changes.
Applying percentage change
In Planning you can also modify the values in cells using percentages.
You can apply percentages both to a single cell of range of cells.
Let's say you need to increase staff expenses for the Q1 of the year by 25%:
(1) Select range of the cells:

(2) Type \"=+25%\" and press \"Enter\" on your keyboard:

(3) The subtotal cells and the underlying cells are adjusted accordingly:

In a similar manner you can subtract the percentages.
Limitations
As it was mentioned above, the formulas applied are not being stored anywhere. You can save only the results in modified cells.
At this moment, only one mathematical operation can be applied simultaneously.Multiple operations cannot be performed in a single step.
