Last updated About 1 month ago

Before activating Procountor, you must have created a BI Book environment for your company. The following link provides instructions for setting up the environment: How to create BI Book environment

Once you have the environment created, you can follow the activation instructions below.

Instructions on how to connect Procountor to BI Book

Connecting Procountor to BI Book is super easy. Follow this step-by-step guide and you will be done in a matter of minutes. Procountor recommends creating an API-usre to open interface connections. The API user should be defined as Management/Auditor role, which has the rights to see all the material, but not the rights to edit.

You can find Procountor's instructions regarding the API user here: API implementation – Procountor

⚠️Please note, that if you do not have access to payroll module and payroll in Procountor, when connecting Procountor to BI Book, then the general ledger will not add up, the Profit and Loss statement and Balance Sheet will be wrong. The user that activates the integration should have the access to payroll in Procountor.

1. Open API in Procountor (API is closed by defaul. API has monthly fee, read here more about it).

1.1. Navigate from the left side in your Procountor to Management -> Company info -> Usage Settings.

1.2. Scroll down the page until Integration Settings appears. If the item does not exist, you are not logged in by a user with the necessary rights. If this is the case create API-user with needed rights. Information about this at the top of this article or from the Procountor's own page.

1.3. Click the checkbox Allow the usage of invoiceable API clients and click Save at the top of the page. This gives your environment the rights to take advantage of Procountor's interfaces.

5. Select the correct environment from the list and click the log in button. This allows Procountor to open the interface automatically and create the interface IDs for the Procountors integration.

6. The process is complete and the data retrieval has begun. The report will be published as soon as the data has been retrieved. This can take up to a one hour, depending on the amount of data your account contains. Do not try to reactivate. Please be in contact if the report is not available within two hours.

Procountor API documentation

The connection is used by us only to get data, not to change or add data to Procountor. This data is updated once a day as an incremental refresh. A full refresh can be done when needed. Please check our Procountor's own API reference if you wish to learn more about the subject

Procountor is one of the market leaders in accounting in Finland, but it still requires in-depth analytics, and that's where Power BI / BI Book comes in. Read more about BI Book's Procountor on our website.
